Production Designer Scott Chambliss wanted us to design the technology into an environment where all surfaces were prospective interaction points and the technology was truly ubiquitous across the entire bridge. In order to achieve this free form movement of data that both Scott and JJ envisioned, we had to design an architecture that utilized many computers, dynamic content rendering and broadcasted meta data to create what appears to be a contiguous world into which all of the screens act as windows. This type of custom design is required for us to continually advance the on screen aesthetic giving the audiences that glimpse into the future that is both intriguing and exciting.

Michael Bay gave us the challenge of designing the technology for a world where your every need is catered and your every move monitored. A futuristic colony and laboratory incubator coexisting as a self sustaining biosphere. Our approach involved projecting the fields of medicine and incarceration to a time when the pervasiveness of the convergent technology is eclipsed by the opportunities of precision management. The day that our reliance on technology becomes so paramount that we start to forget what makes us human. The implementation of this precision systems approach involved interaction through multitouch surfaces, large-scale immersive environment installation, sensor driven content and multinode camera arrays.

Three Ring Circus designed all of the advertising content within the film to present a world in which media is omnipresent and inescapable. Through the concept of large scale animated projections, interactive holographic kiosks and non-uniform surface projections, the designers virtually painted the environments with immersive media. Real world application of these technologies is starting to appear at promotional events and is proving to be quite impressive.
